6th Grade Social Studies

Welcome 6th Grade Social Studies Students! 

Here you can find the names of the units we will be exploring this school year, as well as some resources to help you meet with success.  If there is something you would like me to include, please let me know in class and I will see if I can get it added here for you.

6th Grade Units:
Social Studies Skills and Processes (all year)
Early Civilizations:  Egypt and Mesopotamia (~Week 2-10)
Asia:  India and China (~Week 11-18)
Classical Civilizations:  Greece and Rome (~Week 19-26)
Islamic Civilizations (~Week 27-31)
Europe in the Middle Ages (~Week 32-37)

Quizlet

This is a helpful tool to create your own vocabulary reviews in order to help you remember the content that has been learned in class.  Not only is it great to learn the vocabulary, but it is also important to know how to apply our terms to real world examples.

Crash Course

A set of videos on different topics providing review and visuals (sometimes quite funny) to help further your understanding of what is being taught in class.

Khan Academy

Surprise!  They have world history on their site as well as math and science.  They main time periods are broken down in short videos.
